Fairies & Capers

Happy Halloween!! Yesterday I got to shoot 6 kids under the age of 6 who were all dressed as fairies and capers. They were accompanied by their mothers (who are sisters) and their mom. I had so much fun, but I was lucky I to keep up. They just kept on running, back and forth, back and forth. Not the most organized shoot I've ever done, but certainly one of the most fun! Funny thing is, this wasn't really even for Halloween, these were "just for fun" pics. Today, they are dressing up as completely different characters. Talk about awesome moms! Here are some pics and here is the slideshow.

Referral Program & Loyal Customer Discount

I strongly believe that word-of-mouth referrals are more powerful than any advertising that I could pay for. So, instead of investing in costly ads, I have decided to start two new programs that I know my clients (new & old) will love.
Referral Program
You will receive a $25 gift certificate for any new client that books an undiscounted portrait session ($100 for any client that books a wedding) and mentions your name. You may use the gift certificate however you wish - towards a portrait session, albums, or prints) and you can even allow them to accumulate throughout the year and use them all at the same time.
Loyal Customer Discount
Clients who book a portrait session within 12 months of their last portrait session receive a 15% discount off everything (even our collections). This is a great incentive to make a committment to get your family portraits done every year!
The next thing I'm working on is a registry program for my wedding and baby clients. I'm not sure how I'll set it up, but I've had enough positive response to it that I am going to figure out the best way to do it.

Back from Maternity Leave

I am now officially back from "maternity leave". I put it in quotes because I'm not sure what maternity leave really is when you work from home, love what you do, and are constantly thinking about it. I am proud of myself that I only did two portrait sessions and those were two babies who are part of the New Beginnings Collections, so they have scheduled sessions throughout their first year that I didn't want to get behind on.

I was also able to take "a few" (as in "a few hundred") pictures of my own baby. It's fun to have my own little model, although he seems to already be tired of the camera:) Here are a few that I liked.
