I had the opportunity to shoot another engagement session downtown, this time for Andi and James, which turned out totally different than the last one I did downtown. This is what I love about on-location shoots - if I do my job right, no two sessions are the same.:)
These two are avid Cardinals fans, so they really wanted to take some photos near Busch stadium.

And then we hit up the Arch - but, of course, if I was going to use such a common landmark in one of my images (albeit very important and impressive icon), I was going to have to do something different with it. I really like how the series turned out.

Time for a some snuggles on the grass - I love moments like these when I can back far enough away that the couple relaxes and can just be themselves.

I always like to get some shots of the couple (or family) walking casually. Understandably, most people forget how to be normal when there's a big lens staring right into their eyes. All of a sudden they forget what they usually do when no one's around. So, I usually have to say, "Why don't you walk to that tree? And then turn around and come back." The response is almost always, "Just walk?" Andi and James were pros at "just walking". It's like I'm not even there - which is just how I like the images to turn out.

Every once in a while, we get to the point in a session where I have a vision in my head usually inspired by a certain scene. We were at Keiner Plaza and I thought it would be cute if they danced on the stage. Well, they couldn't do it without laughing, which actually turned the image into something that was much more "them". Andi has this spectacular laugh that is usually inspired by something James does or says. I'm glad I was able to capture that instead of my vision.

Thanks for the great session, you two. I can't wait for your wedding!!
